ALPHASHOT PRO G2 lets you create stills, 360-degree product images, and video content. Whether you need it for an online store or for marketing purposes, this device is perfect for photographing items up to 40cm in height, ranging from cosmetics to mobile phones. Our software manages all the most common file formats (e.g., JPEG, PNG, PSD, BMP, GIF, TIFF, MP4, MOV) and automates the process from shot to publication.
Good news - you don’t! Basic photo knowledge is useful, but even if you have none, we offer clear manuals and dedicated training so you can easily start working with our devices.
ALPHASHOT PRO G2 is also equipped with an AI Photo Assistant that recognizes a product and suggests the best lighting settings for optimal results. But if you are an experienced photographer, you can unleash your creativity and control each of the panels independently, achieving faster and easier results you could not dream of in your photo studio.

Great question! The new product is not just a new upgraded version of the old one. G2 introduces revolutionary technologies, that change and uplift automated photography to a new level.
The key difference here is the lighting. In Alphashot 360 lighting was very limited in performance and had fixed position. ALPHASHOT PRO G2 is equipped with photo-studio grade lighting that is AI-assisted, high-contrast, all around the product, with a total of 74 light sources. Combined with our proven hardware-based image post-production, it results in excellent image quality and detail with unprecedented ease of use.
Moreover, ALPHASHOT PRO G2 is equipped with a bright cross laser pointer and a light insulation cover which follows camera movement. The turntable position is ensured by encoder, and it also features an auto-calibration function. Embedded side door lighting is an extension of the back and bottom light, which allows to capture larger products or to smoothly light the product from behind (kick light). Camera positioning at fixed angles is easier and faster.
Most of the AI technologies you can find in product photography are around image post-production. Typically, photo-AI background removal + shadow + cropping + generative background. Sometimes mannequin-to-model based on genAI images. The quality of the output highly depends on the quality of the input image. Poorly lighted product without texture can’t be reliably sold online.
Unlike typical photo AI, ALPHASHOT PRO G2 is using AI for image capture (lighting & camera & some post-production setup). AI Photo Assistant first recognizes the product type and its features, then tries to figure out the best lighting scenarios and proposes several options. The technology is based on hundreds of products images shot in the device by pro photographers and grouped by a product type. The machine learning model is updated for new product categories. As it is cloud based, the updated model is immediately available for all users.
In short, ALPHASHOT PRO G2 is focused on image capture and not so much on post-production. Although, post-production made in the software is hardware-based (non-AI).
Typically, when you process images with AI, you capture the image and then it’s uploaded to the AI cloud, which scales it down (AI image processing is expensive), removes background, generates shadow, crops the image, and so on. It’s a paid service, usually from 0,02$ (for large quantities) up to single $ per image. The shadow is estimated separately. The result is an image, usually in lower resolution, which quality highly depends on the input.
Orbitvu Station (software that operates ALPHASHOT PRO G2) is using hardware to remove background and generate shadows. The software captures additional images for the mask to separate the background, and the processing takes place on your local workstation. The process is fast, straightforward, pixel-precise, controllable and costs no more than what you spend on the device. The true shadow is created in the same way: the separate shadow image is captured and processed to develop a truthful shadow at no additional cost.
ALPHASHOT PRO G2 lets you photograph small and medium-sized objects. Think of cosmetics, tools, eyewear, smaller electronic devices, and all kinds of products from 5 to 25 cm in height for best results. The maximum product size is 40cm.
